Wow time flies when your personal life is a whirlwind. I had a post all ready to publish on Valentine’s Day to share with you the card that I made for my husband but then our internet router sputtered and died on me just as I was about t0 publish it. Once we figured out the router was the issue several days had passed and we got a new one finally, then it was time again for one of my infusions and of all things to happen my giant puppy decided to drag me down the sidewalk last Sunday causing me some serious bodily harm. I have been alternating Tylenol during the day with pain Rx at night with muscle relaxers to try and dull the aches and pains and I am finally feeling a little better today.
I started designing today’s card project about a week ago and finished it up today. It is not a typical design for me as it requires a little more artistic skills. Here is the card so you can see what I mean:
Here are the Stampin’ Up! products that were used in the design of this card which can be added to your shopping cart with a quick click on the thumbnails below:
I started off by stamping the swing in Memento Black on a piece of Whisper White cardstock and coloring with my Blends. I then decide I wanted to sponge a sky background and used my daubers and Soft Sky and Marina Mist inks and lightly sponged the sky. I had originally planned on using just the branches from the Seasonal Layers dies as supports for my swing but I couldn’t figure out a way to place them that would logically appear to be supportive of the swing. So I hand-cut tree trunks from scraps of the Wood Textures DSP. I then cut out two of the large leave bouquets from the Petals & More Thinlits and cut them into smaller pieces and placed them along the branches that I attached to the trunks. The two pillows are stamped onto scrap pieces of paper and colored with Blends and fussy cut and glued flat to swing. The dog is also stamped onto scrap paper and colored with Blends but is attached to swing with dimensionals.
If you have any other questions regarding any other design elements of this card do not hesitate to contact me.
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you leave here inspired to put stamps to ink to paper. Until next time, stamp on my friends.
