Hello, Dear Friend Card Kit Possibilities

Greetings my stamping friends! I have been very crafty over the last few days and I am excited to share with you my creations.

This will be a rather long post with 22 – yes 22 – cards I created when I combined the Hello, Dear Friend Card Kit (available in the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog) with just two additional products from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog. (I send a special THANK YOU to Jann McCollom for sharing her projects with me, upon which I based several of my card layouts!)

First I will share with you four (4) cards that were made according to the kit’s directions:

The kit comes with enough card bases and other card elements to make three (3) each of the four (4) card designs. The skinny cards will measure 4.50″ x 2.50″ and the larger cards are standard size and measure 5.50″ x 4.25″. Both sizes have a coordinating, size appropriate envelope. (Total of 12 cards with envelopes.)

By making just one of each design from the kit per the directions, by adding some designer series paper (Flower & Field Designer Series Paper [FREE Sale-a-Bration product available through February 28, 2021 or while supplies last]) and/0r a few embellishments (2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots) to the remaining kit supplies, I made the following eight (8) cards:

After making these 12 cards, I still had elements left over from the kit. So, by adding the Flower for Every Season Memories & More Cards & Envelopes I was able to make 10 more cards as follows:

Whew! That’s a lot of cards, right!

If you want to make these cards (or your own variation of them), here are the Stampin’ Up! products you will need (or want) to have on hand. I have included the thumbnail quick links for adding these products to your shopping cart:

Product List

If you purchase the Hello, Dear Friend Card Kit, the Flowers for Every Season Memories & More Cards & Envelopes and the 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots (total purchase of $51.00 before taxes & shipping), you will qualify to receive the Flower & Field 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper for FREE as part of Sale-A-Bration (which ends on February 28, 2021).

I hope you have enjoyed today’s projects and feel inspired and emboldened to mix and match the products that Stampin’ Up! has to offer to stretch your all inclusive kit’s potential. The ALL INCLUSIVE KITS provide you everything you need to make the projects as designed — including the stamp set, an ink spot and all adhesives — and are an economical way to build your crafting supplies.

It has been a very long time since I have bought a card — yes, I have handmade ALL of my cards to friends and family since 2009 and they appreciate them much more than a store bought card. How much would 22 cards cost you at the store? More than the $51.00 (before taxes)? Most likely.

If you have any questions about these projects, I would be happy to share my design information with you. This would even be a fun project to do together with friends through Zoom.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you leave here inspired to put stamps to ink to paper. Until next time, stamp on my friends.

Mystery Stamping Pocket Card

Greetings my stamping friends! Wow – winter has really made her presence known today! I’m usually a stickler to the thermostat rule of “it stays at 69” during the winter season, but with this artic cold front I had to raise it to 71 and I have still been cold when it cycles off. I hope you are all warm and cozy.

After seeing my header photo, are you asking yourself “what is Mystery Stamping”? If you know what it is, then you know how much fun it can be.

If you don’t, it’s a multi-person event where you are given a list of supplies such as card stock, designer series paper, inks, embellishments and sometimes a particular stamp set, but most often you select from what you have. You are provided with measurements for cutting and/or pieces you will need to punch something out of. The host will then give you assembly instructions for step 1, 2, 3, etc. until all elements of your project have been used, but not how exactly they are to be laid out. When everyone is done, you then share photos of your projects (or if done through Zoom, you hold it up to your camera). It is fun and amazing how so many people, given the same instructions on supplies, come out with completely different project designs.

Today’s project that I am sharing with you was a Mystery Stamping card from my leaders during our monthly Zoom meeting this week. We were provided with the following information:

  • 1. Choose a DSP that you really like both sides!! Cut it 4 x 10-½. Score at 5-¼ and 9-¼.
  • 2. Choose cardstock that coordinates with the DSP. Cut three pieces: 4-¼ x 5-½,
    3-1/8 x 5, and 2-½ x 2-½.
  • 3. Cut basic white/very vanilla (whichever goes with your DSP) 2-7/8 x 4-¾ and
    1-½ x 3.
  • 4. Choose word stamp that will fit on 1 ½ x 3 basic white/very vanilla piece.
  • 5. Pick a punch that will punch out your word image.
  • 6. Choose a punch to punch out piece to go behind your punched out word image. This will be punched from the 2-½ x 2-½ cardstock from #2.
  • 7. Pick out small stamps and inks to stamp on 2-7/8 x 4-¾ bw/vv.

You’ll also need:

  • Tear & Tape
  • Dimensionals
  • Bone Folder
  • Stampin’ Seal
  • Multipurpose Glue
  • Rhinestones
  • Ink to coordinate with DSP choice

After being given each step for creating our project, here is what my card looked like:

The finished project is called a “pocket card” and is a quick and easy way to send someone a short note to let them know you are thinking about them. You would simply write your message on the card that fits into the “pocket”.

Here are the Stampin’ Up! products that I used in the design of this project, along with the convenient thumbnails with hyperlinks to add them to your shopping cart:

Product List

NOTE: The Flower & Field Designer Series Paper and the A Touch of Ink stamp set are both Sale-A-Bration items and are only available while supplies last, or February 28, 2021.

If you have any questions about this project, please do not hesitate to ask.

Do you want to join me for a “Mystery Stamping” event? I would be happy to host a “Mystery Stamping” event through Zoom. If you would like to be part of this fun event, let me know and I will schedule a time within the next month to stamp along with you.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you leave here inspired to put stamps to ink to paper. Until next time, stamp on my friends.

Sending Hearts – January 2021 Paper Pumpkin

Greetings my stamping friends. I hope this post finds you all doing well. I have some good personal news to share with you all — my home in Carrollton is officially under contract with a scheduled closing of March 29, AND our new home will be completed mid-March and has a scheduled closing date of March 30! Now it is time to get serious about packing, but first there’s always time to create, right!

In just a few days we will be celebrating Valentine’s Day (or at least those who recognize this as a day to celebrate) and I finally got my Paper Pumpkin kit finished from January, as well as the add-on kit. I made the cards pretty much as designed (I did my ribbons a little differently) and for the add-on kit I added a DSP strip that measures 3/4″ x 6″ to create a belly band to keep the boxes closed (v. using ribbon).

The treat boxes are adorable IRL and will hold two Ghirardelli chocolates or three Hershey nuggets. Assembled they measure 3″ x 2″ x 1/2″.

Here is the video from Paper Pumpkin that shows the contents of the kits that made the cards and the treat boxes:

The Snailed It stamp set and the Forever & Always stamp set coordinate with January’s kit as well. You may notice that I used the “hello” stamp from Snailed It as well as the coordinating designer series paper from the suite on the treat boxes. The Forever & Always stamp set has a “Love” stamp that matches the die cut pieces from the January kit. I LOVE how easy it is to mix and match our products! How about you?

I have added some product thumbnails if you want to add these stamp sets and/or designer series paper to your shopping cart:

Product List

Today, February 10, is the last day to subscribe to receive the February kit — Bouquet of Hope. This kit will include lots of sentiments to help you send comfort and hope to loved ones during this time of worry about the pandemic. You will not want to miss out on this, I promise.

If you are not already a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, HERE is my personalized link.

When it comes to subscribing to Paper Pumpkin, you have multiple options: (1) month-to-month, and (2) prepaid subscriptions:

Product List

A prepaid subscription of 3 or more months counts towards redemption of FREE products during Sale-a-Bration! If you are already a monthly subscriber, you can still purchase a prepaid subscription — you will just need to go into your account and enter the code that you will receive by email. Once the prepaid period has passed, your credit card on file will be charged for each month’s kit until you cancel or pause your subscription. Yes – you can put your subscription on PAUSE at any time before the 10th of each month. You will just want to make sure to remove the pause before the 10th of the month you want your subscription to become active again.

Speaking of Sale-a-Bration, there are only 18 days until this event ends (to return in July with new products). If you have not already redeemed the products you want from the SAB brochure, be sure you get your order(s) in before 11:50 PM (MT) on February 28!

Did you know that you can JOIN as a Stampin’ Up! Independent Demonstrator for just $99.00? Did you know that for just $99.00 you will receive $125.00 of products? Even better than that — now through February 28, if you join Stampin’ Up! you will also receive FREE Designer Series Paper as part of Sale-a-Bration (a $57.50 value)! If you do the math, that means you will receive $182.50 worth of products and supplies for just $99.00 — that is almost a 50% discount.

If you have a wish list that is as long as your arm (like me), then you would benefit greatly if you decided to join my team. Not only is the Starter Kit 100% personalized (meaning, YOU pick what you want in your Starter Kit from each product category), you will immediately receive a discount on each order you place after your demonstratorship becomes effective. For a new demonstrator this is a minimum of 20% off of everything you buy! Not sure what to select as part of your Starter Kit, no worries — I can provide you with a suggested list of products.

If you are interested in hearing more about why I love being a demonstrator or need help signing up, I am here to help you.

Wow, that was a lot of information. If you have any questions about anything I have mentioned here, please ask me for more information.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you leave here inspired to put stamps to ink to paper. Until next time, stamp on my friends.

Good Things Grow with Dragonfly Garden

Greetings my stamping friends! It has been a busy couple of days around my house! On Tuesday my home in Carrollton, Texas had a photo shoot for its big debut on the MLS — it is hard to believe that we are just a couple of months out from moving into our new home in Aubrey.

Since I had to do some SERIOUS organizing and decluttering, and I have never shared my “craft studio” with you because it was such a sad sight, I thought I would first share with you two photos from the shoot:

I’m actually a little sad to be leaving this studio now that it is all nice and organized! (And believe it or not I have about 30 boxes of retired products and projects out in my garage!)

For today’s project, I used products from the Dandy Garden Suite which is now available for purchase in the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog. This particular card was actually designed by a sister demonstrator — Deanna Blackmon — for a shoebox swap we did during the OnStage @ Home event back in November of 2020. This project would be considered an advanced card and includes “fun folds”:

As you can see, it involves a lot of folds and special cuts. It was a bit of a challenge for me at that time and I actually just finished putting it together before sitting down to share this post with you. (Whoever invented the camera feature of today’s “smart phones” is a genius. It allowed me to finish this card months later.)

Here are the Stampin’ Up! products that were used in the design of this card with hyperlinks which will allow you to add what you need to your shopping cart if you find you “need” these products:

Product List

The dragonflies were punched from a sheet of the Dandy Garden 6×6 Designer Series Paper using the coordinating punch and both are colored with Wink of Stella to give them shimmer. I colored the flowers using the dark Calypso Coral and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends combo packs and the larger of the flowers are also colored with Wink of Stella. I colored the leaves with the light Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends combo pack.

If you want more detailed information for the design of this card, including measurements, just ask me. I will need to measure each piece, but would be happy to help if you want to try to create this or a similar design for this “fun folds” card.

BASIC WHITE PRODUCTS:

As you may notice in my project Product List, the Basic White products (replacing the now retired and sold out Whisper White products) are now available for purchase in the North America market. Below are the new product numbers:

  • BASIC WHITE 8-1/2″ X 11″ CARDSTOCK (159276)
  • BASIC WHITE 8-1/2″ X 11″ THICK CARDSTOCK (159229)
  • BASIC WHITE 12″ X 12″ (30.5 X 30.5 CM) CARDSTOCK (159231)
  • BASIC WHITE MEDIUM ENVELOPES (159236)
  • BASIC WHITE NOTE CARDS & ENVELOPES (159232)
  • BASIC WHITE 3″ X 3″ (7.6 X 7.6 CM) ENVELOPES (159233)
  • BASIC WHITE ASSORTED MEMORIES & MORE CARDS & ENVELOPES (159234)

You may want to update these product numbers in your copy of the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog on pages 153-154.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you leave here inspired to put stamps to ink to paper. Until next time, stamp on my friends.

January—June 2021 Mini Catalog is now LIVE!

Greetings my stamping friends! The big day has arrived — the new January—June 2021 Mini Catalog is now LIVE! If you are a current customer of mine, you should have received a printed copy of the Mini Catalog and the Sale-A-Bration catalogs. If you need a copy, I would be happy to send you one. You just need to ask.

I have added a link to the Mini Catalog PDF in the right margin of my blog. I will add the PDF for Sale-A-Bration as well (sometime today).

Here is a short video to wet your whistle for what’s inside the new Mini Catalog:

SALE-A-BRATION

Sale-A-Bration is one of our biggest promotions of the year. It’s packed with perks for demonstrators, overflowing with opportunities for customers, and filled with fun for everyone!

This year the structure of Sale-A-Bration is a little different. Instead of one single Sale-A-Bration season, we’ve split the annual Sale-A-Bration event in two! The first Sale-A-Bration event will take place from January to February, with the second beginning in July and ending in August. With this change, we will have more time to Sale-A-Brate throughout the year!

For each event, only one Sale-A-Bration brochure will be released. Rather than feature multiple product releases in a short span of time, Sale-A-Bration products (and the brochures that tell you all about them) will now be released twice a year—once in January, and once in July. During each Sale-A-Bration event, the product offering will not change throughout the duration of the promotion.

I will share more information about Sale-A-Bration with you in the next few days.

If you have any questions about the new Mini Catalog or Sale-A-Bration, please ask.

Thank you for stopping by today. Until next time, stamp on my friends.

Last Day to Order from August – December 2020 Mini Catalog

Greetings my stamping friends! I just wanted to remind you that Monday, January 4, 2021, is the LAST day you will be able to order products from the August-December 2020 Mini Catalog. Most products in this catalog will be “retired” which means they will not be offered in a future catalog.

If you still have items on your Wish List from this catalog, be sure you get your order submitted online before 11:50 PM (MT). Please adjust the time deadline to reflect your Time Zone.

Monday, January 4, 2021 is also the last day to purchase the Quite Curvy Variety Bundle. While the Quite Curvy Bundle (stamp set and coordinating dies) will be available in the upcoming January-June 2021 Mini Catalog, it will not include items that make up the “Variety” bundle (the Christmas stamp set and designer series paper). See the below pictures to see the difference:

The ordering deadline for the Variety Bundle is the same as for the Mini Catalog.

I’m excited for the new catalog launch on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 and hope to have time between packing and preparing my home for sale to share lots of new projects with you using these new tools.

If you have any questions or need help placing your online order, please ask for my help. It would be best to contact me by telephone (972) 345-8641 for a quick assist.

Thank you for stopping by today. Until next time, stamp on my friends.

Beary Comforting – December 2020 Paper Pumpkin

Greetings my stamping friends! I thought I would take a break from packing and organizing my craft room (we are putting our existing home on the market on January 5!) and play with my December 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit – Beary Comforting.

I have to say that I absolutely love this kit, even though it has cute little bears, pandas and racoons. This kit was a little different this month. While we had supplies to make 12 cards (four each of three designs), each of the four cards animals (bear, panda or racoon) held a different item with a different corresponding message. You will see what I mean in my pictures below.

When I was separating my pieces I said to myself “Wait a minute, I’m missing a sheet of die cuts – I only have three each of the hearts, cupcakes, presents and flowers.” Then it dawned on me that rather than four cards of the exact same design and layout, I had four cards for each animal holding one of each of the four die cuts!

If you are not already a subscriber to Paper Pumpkin – a little box of wonderful that will arrive in your mail box each month – the deadline to subscribe for each month’s kit is the 10th of the month. So if you want to receive the January kit, be sure that you are an active subscriber by January 10, 2021.

And speaking of next month’s kit …

The January 2021 kit will be Love-themed, most likely Valentine’s related. There is also an add-on kit available (only to active Paper Pumpkin subscribers) – Little Love Boxes.

To become a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, simply click HERE to navigate to my link and be sure to select me as your demonstrator when prompted to do so!

If you have any questions about becoming a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, I would be happy to help.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you leave here inspired to put stamps to ink to paper. Until next time, stamp on my friends.

Warm Hugs with Coffee & Kisses

Greetings my stamping friends! I am still working on Christmas gifts believe it or not and I wanted to share a project with you that I made using the Warm Hugs stamp set with the coordinating Warm Wraps dies.

I made three of these coffee caddies and inside each of the coffee cups are Kcups of Caramel and Vanilla Cappuccinos. As you can see, the bag holds a variety of Hershey’s Kisses. I hope the recipients like coffee & chocolate!

Here are the Stampin’ Up! products that I used in the design of this project, along with hyperlinks to add these products to your shopping cart. (NOTE: Some of these products are included in the Giant Year-End Close-Out sale and may already be sold out.)

Product List

If you have any questions regarding any of the design elements of this project, do not hesitate to ask me.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you leave here inspired to put stamps to ink to paper. Until next time, stamp on my friends!

Designer Series Paper Alternative – Gift Wrap

Greetings my stamping friends! I spent a little more time in my crafting space over the last few days finalizing my Christmas cards and “wrapping” some gifts for friends and family. I should be packing up my large collection of crafting tools so we can have our carpets cleaned this week, but fun time first, right!?!

I am giving several family members a surprise gift like spotify plaques which is flat and I didn’t want to use a box or a bag this year. Instead I decided to create ENVELOPES to “wrap” them in. If you are familiar with Stampin’ Up!’s products, then you know we have the best designer series paper – ever! I selected this medium to use to create the envelopes.

I needed an envelope that was approximately 4.25″ x 7.00″. Since I tend to “hoard” my crafting tools, I still have my Envelope Punch Board that retired a few years ago. If you also have this or a similar tool in your craft arsenal, here are the details for your starting paper size and first score mark:

  • Cut your preferred 12″ x 12″ designer series paper down to 9.25″ x 9.25″
  • Make your first score line at 3.75″ and punch the notch
  • Rotate paper 90 degrees counter clockwise
  • Align score mark with the score guide, score and punch
  • Repeat so that all four sides are scored and punched, always remembering to match your SCORE LINE on your paper to the SCORE GUIDE on the punch board (the 3.75″ starting point only applies to the first scored side)

Your finished envelope will measure 4.50″ x 7.00″.

I then made gift tags using one of the tag punches by Stampin’ Up! (Ornate Tag Topper, retired) and decorated the tags with scraps of matching designer series paper and a die cut. The ribbon I used is also retired, but it was all I had that fulfilled my needs. Feel free to substitute the punch and ribbon with whatever you also happen to have on hand.

Here are the Stampin’ Up! products that I used in the design of these envelopes that remain available for purchase. You can click on the thumbnails below for more information and to add these items to your shopping cart. (NOTE: Some items are currently included in the Giant Year-End Closeout and are available only while supplies last.)

Product List

If you have any questions regarding this project, I would be happy to help. You simply just need to ask.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you leave here inspired to put stamps to ink to paper. Until next time, stamp on my friends.
