Greetings my stamping friends! I spent a little more time in my crafting space over the last few days finalizing my Christmas cards and “wrapping” some gifts for friends and family. I should be packing up my large collection of crafting tools so we can have our carpets cleaned this week, but fun time first, right!?!
I am giving several family members a surprise gift like spotify plaques which is flat and I didn’t want to use a box or a bag this year. Instead I decided to create ENVELOPES to “wrap” them in. If you are familiar with Stampin’ Up!’s products, then you know we have the best designer series paper – ever! I selected this medium to use to create the envelopes.
I needed an envelope that was approximately 4.25″ x 7.00″. Since I tend to “hoard” my crafting tools, I still have my Envelope Punch Board that retired a few years ago. If you also have this or a similar tool in your craft arsenal, here are the details for your starting paper size and first score mark:
- Cut your preferred 12″ x 12″ designer series paper down to 9.25″ x 9.25″
- Make your first score line at 3.75″ and punch the notch
- Rotate paper 90 degrees counter clockwise
- Align score mark with the score guide, score and punch
- Repeat so that all four sides are scored and punched, always remembering to match your SCORE LINE on your paper to the SCORE GUIDE on the punch board (the 3.75″ starting point only applies to the first scored side)
Your finished envelope will measure 4.50″ x 7.00″.
I then made gift tags using one of the tag punches by Stampin’ Up! (Ornate Tag Topper, retired) and decorated the tags with scraps of matching designer series paper and a die cut. The ribbon I used is also retired, but it was all I had that fulfilled my needs. Feel free to substitute the punch and ribbon with whatever you also happen to have on hand.
Here are the Stampin’ Up! products that I used in the design of these envelopes that remain available for purchase. You can click on the thumbnails below for more information and to add these items to your shopping cart. (NOTE: Some items are currently included in the Giant Year-End Closeout and are available only while supplies last.)

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you leave here inspired to put stamps to ink to paper. Until next time, stamp on my friends.
